This is movement that is designed to promote mindfulness and provide you with an "inner-cise," this is not exercise yoga.
Gentle modifications will be given to suit most levels of ability.
This type of movement will help to regulate the nervous system - providing your body with tools that can be used in acute moments of stress.
Yoga is a great way to practice being present. Taking care of ourselves - real self-care takes presence - it takes an ability to look within and know what our bodies need in the moment. Not acting from a place of "should" or "usually," but actively listening, and being open to the messages from within that will tell you what your soul is seeking - in this moment...
Yoga is a part of a lifestyle approach to medicine, helping manage the side effects associated with many chronic conditions. Stress is a huge component of illness, and 30 minutes of slow mindful yoga a day may help your nervous system regulate and handle stressors better.
