There are a number of "Spiritual Wellness" Classes posted on my You Tube channel. Classes include gentle movement to prep the mind and body for relaxation, breath work, and meditation.
Years ago in a small yoga studio in Seattle, I had an experience in meditation where I was embraced by an energy, by an inner world - that said "welcome home." This energy has been with me ever since - a light of awareness touched me, and helped me find a little piece of home within myself - a connection with my inner light. This is what I would like to help you find. It takes time and practice, like anything we really want in life - but don't you want a deeper connection with yourself!?
Our happiness and health is three-fold: physical, emotional, and spiritual. We need a physical practice to keep the body healthy; we need human connection (among other things) to stay emotionally healthy; and we need a connection with ourselves, with our inner light, with our deeper meaning and purpose to feel spiritually healthy.
Deep down - you know you need to slow down...right!? Is there a quieter inner voice, calling you to listen to it? We are living in a world where we are often "running from a tiger," at least our nervous system feels like we are. The anecdote to stress is relaxation - - if you are feeling any level of stress you need this type of a practice to help calm the nervous system.
Finding a connection to the divine, god, universal presence, or a higher power is a key component of spiritual practices. If you already have a connection to god, I am not here to change that - only deepen it, by helping you connect with your inner light. Having faith in a divine ordering principle/power can assist you on your path by: helping you let go of fear - because faith is a far greater companion.
You are already whole. You are already just the way you are supposed to be - complete and perfectly imperfect!! You already have the answers within you - the joy within you. Spiritual work is more like peeling an onion - peeling back the layers/walls we have built around us, to uncover that pure light of our own being - radiating with love and beauty.
So many of the things we fill our day with are more about "getting it done," "pushing through," or "no pain no gain." We all need a place where the opposite can be cultivated. Here on your mat with me - we will seek practices that nourish, and nurture the body, mind, and soul. Replenishing and rejuvenating our spirits - this is an innercise, not an exercise - and it is just a crucial to your well-being as the exercise is!
This 30 minute yoga practice is designed to help you slow down and connect within. When the solar energy of doing is high and you feel as though you've lost the connection with the softer side of you, your heart. We will explore poses to lift energy up to the heart, and to loosen the upper chest, and mid back, there is also a mudra practice for the heart. This is a practice that is gentle and designed for most.
This 5-minute meditation is a breathing practice will strengthen the diaphragm, and lungs- massage the lymphatic system and ultimately boost your immunity. Use it anytime of day to find more peace and calm.
This 20 minute class is a condensed version of the 60 minute classes that I typically offer to individuals or groups. This class can be done as a short practice, or as a preview to the style and intensity of the Y4C method. Props needed: a chair and a pillow or yoga bolster.
