The success of our yoga practice is not measured by the fact that we can touch our toes - but in how it affects our love for ourselves and others. Our relationship with self and others is improved when we learn to pause.
More than any physical benefit I can think of the connection I have made with myself...my ability to love, let go of judgement, and accept myself and others as we are, is the greatest gift my yoga practice has given me.
I want to help you: find the softness, take a break from the daily grind, pause, and reconnect with your heart.
Nature is getting ready to push pause…to shed her leaves, and release as we move into the season of rest. Join me in the yurt at Will Heal Farm, on September 16, 2023 at 10am-4pm to explore the pause, to explore the stillness, and to get ready for the season of rest. Summertime is filled with activity, it is the season of growth, and doing - - Fall (and Winter) provides a natural opportunity to rest, rebuild, and recharge ourselves with stillness, and reflection.
We will spend a beautiful day together at the farm and nourish ourselves with gentle movement, stillness, nature, meditation, sound, and journaling. The day won’t be heavy on information and learning, but more of an opportunity to go within, reflect, and recharge!!
BREATHE: We will arrive with gentle morning movements - yoga for all, props will be used, and variations will be offered for you. Need a chair for yoga, not a problem - I can offer those options too.
PAUSE: There will be space for stillness and journaling before lunch, time to discuss how the pause can help us re-charge!
NOURISH: A vegetarian gluten free lunch will be provided - kitchari is an Ayurvedic recipe that is used in cleansing - but is healthy and delicious anytime - especially with our toppings to cater the meal to your Dosha (more on that during lunch the hour).
LISTEN: After lunch there will be time for a quiet walk around the farm, or a longer stroll into the nearby county park if you need more steps - the time could be spent quietly reflecting in the sun outside, or even resting in the yurt - a window of time that will be filled with silence, where you can do what you need. Art and creative ideas will be provided in the yurt, if the weather doesn’t allow us to be outside.
SOUND & STILLNESS: My friend, fellow yoga teacher, and talented musician Nicole Navratil will be on sight for an afternoon session that is all about sound. How making sound can help us find the stillness within.
RESTORE: We will wrap the day with a nice long restorative yoga practice in the yurt - recharging our body and mind with much needed deep relaxation, and rest!!
My hope is that you will feel more grounded, clear, rested, and recharged at the end of this day together. That you will feel connected and whole, that you will find the value in slowing down, and making space for rest.
Cost for the day-long retreat is $150.
